Last week saw Albyn School undertaking their Gold Training and Practice DofE Expeditions. After a day of in-school training, the group headed down to Blair Atholl.  Due to the terrible forecast, of heavy rain and high winds, we reverted to plan B.  Instead of heading straight off into the remote area of Glen Tilt, the groups did a training day on the local hills, and returned to the relative comfort of Blair Atholl campsite. Thank you to the campsite for being able to accommodate everyone as such short notice.

The following day, the groups all continued on their planned routes, into Glen Tilt, in the heart of the Cairngorms. Some routes needed to be adapted due to the high river levels. However, all the groups emerged from the hills on Friday in good spirits, after a challenging week. Everyone finished in, or close to Braemar, allowing time for well-earned tea and cakes.
